About:

The motif is based on a photo i took in Parkveien, Oslo a few years back. What interested me was the way it all was put on top of each other in a pile, with the Bicycle at the bottom and the white modern chair, the upholstered old-fashioned chair, and at the very top the stripped inmate of a sofa cushion. I like the visual aesthetics and chaos of the pile, like the game Mikado, where you can remove one stick after another without moving others sticks. The title Streetview is taken from a function on google maps, where you virtually walk the street and look around as if you were really there. After the photo was taken and stored it in my inspiration file on my laptop, and I did not think about it for some time. One day I was at a Café in Lillehammer, I went to the toilet, I saw the thing in the photo that I had not figured out what it was. I recognized it immediately to be that cylinder shaped thing lying in the front of the pile, the black thing. It was a tall slim garbage bin. Later I have seen them in other toilets. The other object from the photo that I have seen around was the mint-coloured stool. I saw that at a tourist-hut at Asker, it was the same mass-produced stool, but in a black colour. Why this matters I do not know. We all look for recognition and patterns around us I guess?
