The Melancholy of Departure

The work is inspired by computer games. It raises the question of finding the way to the next level. In the system of artificial tunnels, there is a multiple choice of where to go next. You can choose to go left or right, or into one of the openings ahead. The blue is perhaps a symbol of “light in the end of the tunnel” or finding the “way out”. There are also indications that someone or something of great speed, has been there recently. The environment is completely artificial, and has no traces of nature or organic elements.

I have stolen the title from a painting by Giorgio de Chirico. The work measures 1,2 x 3,5 meters and was made in 2008.
