The Østlandsutstillingen 2025 has opened to the public at the Nitja Center for Contemporary Art and we are looking forward to over a month of tours, artist talks, film screenings, and family workshops. Here is information about the exhibition and events.
The jury writes the following about this year’s exhibition:
“The works presented in the Østlandsutstillingen 2025 vary from the quiet and subtle to the more monumental and expressive. The selected artists have backgrounds from all over the world, and cultural identity and belonging are a common thread in the exhibition. In the works we can read an underlying unrest for the world today, which is conveyed through subtle expressions where the close and everyday things are seen in light of a larger context. The exhibition largely reflects the spirit of the times in society, and mirrors society’s values, ideas, and concerns. Several of the works also explore history, and give the audience an opportunity to understand the development of society in an alternative way.”
